The Blue Heron Foundation
The winner of the Miss Universe Romania 2009 contest will become the Ambassador of the Blue Heron Foundation.
The Blue Heron Foundation is dedicated to the betterment of the quality of the life of abandoned and disadvantaged children and adolescents, and is dedicated to facilitate their access to the opportunities that life offers.
The Blue Heron Romania Foundation is a branch of the Blue Heron Foundation, which was founded in Los Angeles, United States, in 2002.
Blue Heron Foundation has over 500 donors in America and in Romania who have contributed over $600,000 for our various programs over the years.
The Blue Heron Scholarship includes:
- Tuition costs for students admitted to university without scholarships
- $65 a month as personal pocket money
- Professional courses such as the ECDL (English Computer Drive License), a computer certification recognized all over the world
- Driver’s school in order for the student to get his/her driver’s license and be more independent
- Mentors to support them with advice and encouragements
All the donations received by The Blue Heron Foundation go directly for the help of abandoned children and adolescents in Romania. There are no significant direct expenses, salaries or rents.
The external specialized services are contacted according to needs and are paid by founders, and so, 100% of the donations go directly for the projects of which the children and the adolescents of the Bleu Heron programme benefit from.
