Alexandra Catalina Filip, cea care a fost incoronata in data de 9 iulie ca fiind regina a frumusetii si reprezentanta Romaniei la Miss Universe 2010, a fost descalificata!

Ca urmare a consultarii agendei de lucru a Organizatiei Miss Universe Romania si a atribuiilor ce-i revin detinatoarei titlului Miss Universe Romania 2010, Alexandra Catalina Filip a decis sa nu continuie drumul catre marea competitie din Las Vegas. Contractele pe care aceasta urma sa-l semneze cu Organizatia Miss Universe Romania si cu Organizatia Miss Universe de la New York prevad o serie de activitati care necesita multe ore de pregatire, prezenta la evenimente publice si participarea candidatei Romaniei in cantonamentul de pregatire din Statele unite ale Americii.

Alexandra Catalina Filip este dansatoare profesionista si campioana nationala (2008-2010) la mai multe sectiuni de dans sportiv. Urmatorul concurs international de dans sportiv la care Alexandra Catalina Filip si partenerul ei, Ramon Zedan, urmeaza sa reprezinte Romania va fi pe 28 august in Corea de Sud.

"Antrenamentele pentru competitiile internationale de gen, nu pot fi intrerupte si nici macar programul de studiu nu poate fi scurtat, pentru ca altfel risc sa nu ma pot prezenta la inaltime in toate competitiile de dans la care imi doresc sa particip" - a declarat Alexandra Catalina Filip.

Astfel Alexandra nu va putea respecta obligatiile contractuale si nici regulamentul concursului Miss Universe. In consecinta, urmatoarea concurenta clasata, respectiv Oana Paveluc va fi incoronata Miss Universe Romania 2010 si va reprezenta tara noastra la competitia internationala ce se va desfasura in Las Vegas, pe data de 23 august, in complexul Mandalay Bay.

Oana Paveluc este din Brasov, are 18 ani, 1.81m si masuri perfecte. Este eleva in clasa a XII-a la Colegiul Tehnic "Remus Radulet", a facut studii de actorie si isi doreste sa devina om de afaceri.

Oana Paveluc este voluntar al Asociatiei AS si se implica in proiectul "Un alt mod de a fi" ce are ca scop sprijinirea copiilor ce sufera de autism.

Miss Universe Romania 2010 spera ca zambetul sau ii va determina pe membrii juriului din competitia internationala, sa acorde coroana ravnita, Romaniei. Oana spune despre ea ca este o loaica putin timida, dar foarte ambitioasa.

"Nici n-am visat ca rezultatele se mai pot schimba. Oricum eu eram extrem de fericita si cu Premiul I si Premiul Presei, pentru ca Miss Universe Romania este cel mai important concurs de frumusete din tara. Acum, ca situatia s-a schimbat total, parca traiesc un vis. Sper sa ma dezmeticesc cat mai repede si sa reiau pregatirea pe care am avut-o si inainte de finala nationala. Sunt foarte fericita! Primul lucru la care m-am gandit a fost sa-i cedez premiile titlului oferite de Organizatia Miss Universe Romania. " - a spus Oana Paveluc - Miss Universe Romania 2010.

In acest an cea de-a 59-a editie a prestigiosului concurs de frumusete Miss Universe va fi gazduita de Las Vegas. Pe data de 23 august, in incinta Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino, una dintre cele peste 80 de candidate la titlul suprem va fi incoronata de Stefania Fernandez, Miss Universe 2009. Concursul va fi televizat live de NBC si Telemundo.

Miss Universe Romania 2010 gives her crown after four days
Bucharest, 14th of July 2010 ~ 12 noon

Alexandra Catalina Filip, crowned on the 9th of July as the queen of beauty and Romania's representative at Miss Universe 2010, has been disqualified.

After analyzing in details the agenda for the upcoming year and the responsibilities placed on the shoulders of Miss Universe Romania 2010, Alexandra Catalina Filip has decided to end her path to the grand competition held in Las Vegas on the 23rd of August. The contract required to be signed with the Miss Universe Romania Organization stipulated a number of activities that require lots of traveling within Romania and abroad, participating at numerous public events and of course the preparation for the final held in the United States.

Alexandra Catalina Filip is a professional dancer and a national champion (2008 - 2010) in several types of sportive dancing. The next international dancing competition where Alexandra Catalina Filip and her dancing partner, Ramon Zedan, plan to participate is to be held in South Korea on the 28th of August.

"The period of preparation for these kinds of competitions cannot be interrupted and the training schedule cannot be shortened, because there might be the risk of not being able to perform at the highest standard in future competitions," Alexandra Catalina Filip declared.

Therefore, Alexandra would not be able to fulfill the responsibilities stipulated in the contract and in the Miss Universe competition guidelines. The runner-up, Oana Paveluc, will be crowned as the new Miss Universe Romania 2010 and will represent Romania at the international competition held in Las Vegas on the 23rd of August at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino.

Oana Paveluc is from the city of Brasov (120 km from the capitol city of Bucharest), she is 18 years old, has a height of 1.81 meters and ideal measures. She is a student in her last year of high school at "Remus Radulet" Technical High School, has completed numerous acting courses and dreams of becoming a successful businesswoman.

Oana Paveluc is a voluntary member of AS Association and she is involved in the project called "Another way of being" which supports the children suffering from autism. She has been involved with this charity since her younger brother was born with autism.

As part of the Miss Universe Romania responsibilities, Oana Paveluc has become the Ambassador of Goodwill for Blue Heron Foundation, a charity estabilshed in Los Angeles in 2002 which has raised over $600,000 from both American and Romanian donors to provide college scholarships to orphaned and abandoned children in Romania.

Miss Universe Romania 2010 hopes that her smile will determine the members of the jury at the international pageant to award the Miss Universe crown to Romania. Oana sees herself as a slightly shy lioness, but with insurmountable ambitions.

"I couldn't believe that the final results have changed. I was extremely happy even with the First runner-up title and the Media Award, because Miss Universe Romania is the most important beauty competition in the whole country. Now, as the situation has changed completely, it is as if I am living a dream. I hope I can get my thoughts together as soon as possible and start preparing for the big show in Las Vegas. I am extremely happy! The first thing that I did after hugging Alexandra Catalina Filip was to offer her the prizes given by the Miss Universe Romania Organization," said an emotional Oana Paveluc.

This year, the 59th edition of Miss Universe, the prestigious beauty competition will be held in Las Vegas. On the 23rd of August, at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino, one of the 80+ contestants for the supreme title will be crowned by Stefania Fernandez, Miss Universe 2009. The competition will be broadcasted live by NBC and Telemundo.
