Special requirements and details of the local and international contest

• The participants in the pre-selection must be at least 18 and not more than 27, age reached until February 1st 2009.
• Participants must have Romanian citizenship, or be a resident of Romania for at least one year until the date of the registration in the contest.
• Contestants who have been left for studies abroad are also admitted.
• Participants who are or have been married, and those who have given birth or have the responsibility of parenthood will not be admitted.
• Participants who have had plastic surgery will also not be admitted. ­
• Participants who have posed or appeared in nude pictorials will not be admitted.
• Participants must have ideal looks and measures as close as possible to 90 – 60 – 90.
• Participants for the pre-selection will sign a declaration on their own reasonability through which they will give their consent to be photographed and filmed (including in swimsuits) during the period of the pre-selection, following that the materials be broadcasted through media channels, according to the partnerships signed by the organizer.
• Participants must present an ID card through which they can prove their age.
• The national competition must have a minimum of 20 contestants.
• The jury will be formed out of 12 well-known representatives in various fields such as modeling, acting, television, sports, business, government, tourism.
• The winner of the national selection must willing and able to spend three weeks preparing for the international contest, Miss Universe 2009, and be willing to be photographed in a swimsuit. 
• Once she is designated the winner of the title Miss Universe, she has to be prepared to sign a contract with The Miss Universe Organization, through which she makes the engagement to spend a year in the United States of America, in New York and travel under the clauses of the signed contract. All the living conditions and the existing expenses will be ensured by the Miss Universe Organization.
• The transportation of the representative of Romania to and from the Miss Universe 2009 final competition will be financed by the local Miss Universe licensee.

The proper wardrobe for the repetition and the appearances during the entire period of the Miss Universe 2009 competition must include: 2 cocktail dresses, 6 casual dresses, clothes for the rehearsal and proper shoes, at least one evening dress, a traditional costume, the national present (for the auction that will take place during the contest). All these items will be ensured by the local Miss Universe licensee.
